Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd, in partnership with Motus Holdings, has launched the all-new Tata Punch in South Africa, introducing updated styling, enhanced technology, improved safety features and a new turbocharged engine option to the subcompact SUV segment.
Starting at R224,900, the new Punch is available in three derivatives, offering customers a choice of two petrol powertrains and a range of comfort, convenience and connectivity features.
The model builds on the Punch’s success in India, where it has attracted more than 800,000 customers. Its arrival in South Africa further expands Tata Motors’ local SUV portfolio, following the recent introduction of the Tata Osprey.

Modern SUV Styling and Connected Technology
The new Punch features refreshed exterior styling, including LED headlamps and daytime running lights, a redesigned three-dimensional front grille and distinctive rear LED lighting. Contrasting roof options, roof rails and available 16-inch alloy wheels further enhance its SUV character.
Inside, the cabin combines practical functionality with modern technology. Depending on the derivative, drivers benefit from an 8-inch touchscreen or a larger 10.25-inch HD Harman infotainment system.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard across the range. Additional features include a digital instrument cluster, wireless smartphone charging, USB-C charging ports, rear air-conditioning vents and a height-adjustable driver’s seat.
Two Petrol Powertrain Options
The Pure+ and Adventure models are powered a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 65 kW and 115 Nm of torque, paired with a five-speed manual transmission.
The flagship Accomplished+ S introduces a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine to the Punch range in South Africa. Producing 88 kW and 170 Nm of torque, it is paired with a six-speed manual transmission.
The naturally aspirated models offer selectable City and Eco driving modes, while the turbocharged flagship features a dedicated Sport calibration for a more responsive driving experience.
Safety Takes Centre Stage
Safety is a key focus of the new Punch, with six airbags fitted as standard across all three derivatives. The vehicle also holds a five-star Bharat NCAP safety rating for adult and child occupant protection.
Additional safety and driver-assistance features include electronic stability control, Hill Hold Assist, Hill Descent Control, tyre pressure monitoring and ISOFIX child-seat anchorages. Depending on the derivative, drivers also benefit from a reversing camera, a 360-degree surround-view camera and Blind View Monitor.
Ownership Support and Peace of Mind
All three derivatives come with a five-year/125,000 km warranty and a two-year/30,000 km service plan through TataMove, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles’ South African ownership support programme.
The programme includes 24-hour roadside assistance, mobility support, nationwide service coverage, OEM-trained technicians and access to a dedicated customer care hotline.
With its combination of competitive pricing, modern technology, enhanced safety and the introduction of a turbocharged powertrain, the all-new Tata Punch strengthens Tata Motors’ offering in South Africa’s increasingly competitive subcompact SUV market.
