Her entrepreneurial spirit allowed her to successfully launch, manage, and expand her publications and businesses over the past 18 years.

After spending eight years in Investigative Journalism, she ventured into the motoring sector in 2010, collaborating with esteemed brands such as BMW, Volvo, Jaguar/Landrover, and VW.

Given her extensive experience across diverse areas of the motoring industry, she recognized an opportunity in the market for a female motoring journalist with her background to make a significant impact.

Motivated the fact that 78% of decision-makers in this field are women, she embraced this opportunity to provide guidance, support, and insights from a female perspective.

As someone who thrives in social settings, she found a natural affinity and enthusiasm for retail and sales. Realizing this, Desh decided to step outside traditional boundaries focusing on test-driving, reviewing, and crafting her articles from a dealership standpoint.

She dedicated two and a half years to Surf4cars.co.za, honing her skills as a motoring journalist and editor. Through rigorous research, she uncovered that in some of the world’s leading automotive markets (such as the US, UK, and Australia), “new car” sales significantly benefit from word-of-mouth, testimonials, and online reviews.

Her goal is to continue working from a dealer’s perspective and effectively guide at least 50% of the female buyer demographic in making informed choices when purchasing or maintaining their vehicles.

By merging her expertise as a journalist with her marketing acumen, she developed a comprehensive marketing product that has resulted in considerable improvements in leads, sales, and customer retention in recent months.

M-WOTY NPC & Talk The Torque Studios emerged from a desire to honour and celebrate the contributions of women in the motoring trade.
