Kia South Africa has launched an upgraded Sonet range, with more safety, technology, and comfort across the line-up, backed a five-year warranty with no kilometre limit.
Kia has turned up the appeal of its popular Sonet range with a host of upgrades, led the addition of a standard sunroof on the EX, the popular mid-spec model. It’s a standout feature that brings even more desirability, style and enjoyment of the Sonet range.
Other significant changes are the introduction of a new LS+ derivative bringing six-airbag safety specification further down the range along with Kia’s iconic styled wheels for a bolder, more rugged look. A BOSE sound system comes standard in the flagship SX model, delivering a more immersive and premium audio experience.
Electronic Stability Control and Hill-start Assist Control remain standard across the range.
The line-up has also been restructured. Two new LS+ derivatives, in manual and CVT, join the range between the entry LS models and the LX. The LX and EX grades are loaded with additional technology and comfort features.
At the top of the range, the SX maintains Kia’s advanced driver assistance systems and 10.25-inch HD display, now paired with the BOSE sound system.
The 1.5 MPI petrol engine produces 85 kW and 144 Nm, available with a five-speed manual or CVT automatic transmission. Ground clearance is 190 mm with luggage capacity of 385 litres.

It extends safety and technology specification to more customers, at price points that resonate with South African buyers. The best just got better,” says Kia South Africa CEO Paul Turnbull.
Every Sonet is covered Kia South Africa’s five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty. Unlike warranties capped at a set distance, cover continues regardless of how far the vehicle is driven, which matters for high-mileage owners, long-distance commuters, and fleet operators.
