Tata launched in South Africa in August last year with a four-model line-up and an extensive dealer network, which has now grown to a total of 45 dealers across South Africa. Tata will continue to expand through a specialised and strategic network growth, notably with the introduction of three more dealers in February.

“The introduction of the Tata brand and our model range have been so well received the public and dealers alike that we have been able to exceed our target of 40 dealers in the first year, within six months,” says Daphne Greyling, General Manager: Dealer Sales, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles South Africa.

This extensive dealer network represents a significant investment and commitment to the South African vehicle market and towns across the country.

South Africans are now able to purchase and have their Tata serviced or maintained in all corners of the country. All Tata dealerships are equipped with the complete Tata corporate identity, ensuring facilities that match the modern style for which the Tata brand is now renowned for, and employ dedicated Tata staff that have been extensively trained on the product range.

While Tata Motors South Africa is yet to complete a full year of retailing their new model range in South Africa, they are gaining market share in all the segments in which they compete at a rapid rate.

“Momentum is everything and we will continue to expand our dealer network in strategic locations around South Africa along with the right dealer partners,” adds Greyling.

The Tata dealer network is set to be expanded to a total of 50 dealers the end of the year to ensure a wide presence in all the major cities and smaller towns of the country.

Bolstering this momentum and appetite is the recent announcement that Tata Motors South Africa will add two new models to their offering, with the Nexon and Sierra due to reach local dealership floors during 2026.

This product offering is supported TataMove, a customer-first ecosystem that brings together warranties, nationwide service coverage, spare parts support, mobility solutions and OEM-certified repairs into one simple promise: Tata will always keep you on the road.

As Tata re-establishes itself in South Africa’s competitive automotive market, TataMove represents a strategic investment in long-term trust, credibility and customer confidence which is particularly valuable in a climate where buyers are seeking both value and reliability.

“Our initial four model offering gave us a passenger car market coverage of 76% and the addition of the Nexon and Sierra will increase that figure to 85%. This means that our model offering caters to most segments and price points of the South African market. Along with an extensive dealer network across South Africa we are well positioned to reach or market share goals,” concludes Greyling.
