Ford Introduces the Dynamic and Vibrant Puma to its Passenger Vehicle Line-up in South Africa

Ford’s recent launch of the Puma in South Africa marks the expansion of its passenger vehicle lineup, leveraging the model’s success in Europe. The introduction of the Puma aligns with the surging demand for SUVs, especially in the compact crossover segment.

Boasting a blend of captivating design, practicality, and cutting-edge technologies, the Puma is offered in two distinct variants: the sporty Titanium and the stylish ST-Line Vignale. Its power is derived from the acclaimed 1.0L EcoBoost engine, delivering 92kW and 170Nm, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. The Puma offers versatility with five selectable drive modes: Normal, Eco, Slippery, Sport, and Trail.

Ford’s Puma features an eye-catching design characterized by unique wing-top-mounted headlamps, aerodynamic lines, and a raised ride height. The interior is equipped with high-end features, including a digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, B&O sound system, lumbar massage seats, and advanced driver assistance technologies.

The Puma lineup includes the Titanium with sporty elements and the ST-Line Vignale with additional upscale features like adaptive LED lights. Both models come in a range of vibrant exterior colors.

Beyond its seductive styling, the Puma prioritizes practicality, offering a spacious rear cargo capacity of 456 liters. The innovative Ford MegaBox, an optional feature, provides deep and versatile storage solutions, accommodating items like golf bags or tall houseplants.

The Puma is powered by the award-winning 1.0L EcoBoost engine, known for its fuel efficiency and performance. The engine incorporates advanced features such as cylinder deactivation and Auto Start-Stop, contributing to a balanced driving experience.

Safety is paramount in the Puma, equipped with active safety features like ABS, Electronic Stability Control, Lane-Keeping System, and more. Customers can opt for the Driver Assistance Pack, adding advanced features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Evasive Steering Assist, and Blind Spot Information System.

The interior of the Puma is both innovative and inviting, featuring lumbar massage front seats, a wireless charging pad, and Ford’s SYNC 3 communications and entertainment system. The ST-Line Vignale model comes with a premium B&O sound system and a fully configurable 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.

With a starting price of R569,900 for the Puma Titanium and R613,900 for the Puma ST-Line Vignale, Ford offers a comprehensive package, including Ford Protect coverage, comprising a four-year/120,000km warranty, roadside assistance, and corrosion warranty. Optional service or maintenance plans are available, extending the coverage up to eight years or 135,000km.
